Daring and desperate to win Morgan’s love, Olivia Breedlove embarks on a reckless folly. But everything backfires when Morgan remains one step ahead of her and the game ventures down a path of duplicity and murder.
A decade ago, Morgan was a heartbeat away from taking Olivia’s virginity. Her father, Thaddeus, intervened and threatened to meet him over pistols if he so much as looked at his daughter again. But now, Thaddeus is dead and Morgan has no intention of ignoring the ravenous hunger he’s harbored for the blasted woman for ten years.
One way or the other, he will quench this burning desire and make her his forever
This was officially my second romance book ever read. I am more a YA reader and I write sweet romance, but I promised my lovely cousin, bestie, ying-to-my-yang, Niiks a guest post to help celebrate her bloggiversary, and no way was I coming on her sexy blog to review a YA. ( I said yang lol) She totally said I could, but I smelled the cyber tomatoes and thought better of it. So, while I am no expert on romance books, I am an obsessive reader, writer, and lover of love, so I crown me as qualified. Ching! *Sound of my crown*
Here we go.
I liked this book lots. It was hot. It was funny. He was snarky. She was strong willed. What else could I want? Oh, a murder? Done. Right? I read it in an afternoon because I had to know what was coming next. Kudos to Keta for sure.
The book: Olivia’s father has died and she has six months to find a husband. She plots up a kinky plan to capture the attention of the only man she’s ever wanted – but who she thought – thought of her only as a sister AND who her dad once said he’d shoot if they ever spoke again. So, ya know, that never went anywhere. BUT, now dad’s dead and she grabs an opportunity to gain his attention.
There’s a brothel and some voyeurism and all kinds of stuff goes on in there. Yeeowsa. Poor Olivia is steaming and I don’t mean she’s angry (though she really is angry an awful lot) any way…she and Morgan (that’s his name) have some hot stolen moments, but always break apart glaring at one another, until a murderer begins stalking Olivia.
I’m cutting you off short because I’m not sure if I have already ruined it for you. I’m super bad about spoilers. (As if you’d read for the intricate plot). The chemistry between Olivia and Morgan is wonderful. The tension is palpable and the action is both hot and plentiful.
I loved it. You will too.
