Earthly Delights

With a messed up family background and a tendency to grow claws and fangs, Tanner Chance isn’t exactly the boy next door. But he’s a decent cop, and he keeps himself on the side of the good guys. Convenient, because when he rescues a survivor of a horrific shifter attack he finds himself instantly smitten—with an honest-to-goodness angel, as innocent as she is irresistible.

Marna may be angelic, but she’s not stupid or weak. She can take care of herself. Tanner is more temptation than protection anyway. Or so she thinks, until someone wearing her face starts taking out some of New Orleans’ more unsavory paranormals. With police and predators both gunning for her blood, Marna has no choice but to trust Tanner…even though what’s sparking between them is hotter than anything holy.

Avenging Angel is Eden’s fourth book in her The Fallen series and it picks up right after book three ends in an epic battle that leaves Marna wingless and earth bound. I enjoy this series immensely and am still waiting for the book that I won’t enjoy. Eden snags my interest every time she pens a story and luckily nothing changed when I picked up Avenging Angel.

Marna is quite capable of taking care of herself. Even if most of her angel powers have gone on the fritz after her wings were sawed off in a fight with a shifter. Regardless, Tanner has dogged her every step sine she was strong enough to walk away from him after she healed. Now two shifters have turned up dead and the only witness claims Marna did it. Or someone with Marna’s face. Not wanting her to be framed for murder Tanner whisks her away in order to protect her while they try and track down the real killer.

Marna is such a strong female lead character. She matches Tanner and even soars above him on occasion. Due to her run in with Tanner’s brother, she is skeptical of all shifters and doesn’t want to admit to herself the new found feelings shes having are mostly when he is present. The lust is new to her as are all human emotions and she tries valiantly to ignore them in her quest to get back up to Heaven in any way possible. But having Tanner around means Marna is slowly excepting her earthbound state and soon Heaven isn’t her top priority. I love watching (and experiencing) those new found feelings with the characters for the first time. The confusion, the slight anger, the denial are all something that I take along with the hero/heroine and in a world where we take things for granted, being able to feel that for the first time is an awesome experience. Working through them with a alpha panther shifter…even better.

Tanner and Marna together were a definite force to be reckoned with. Tanner’s panther was always close by and ready to attack and that frequently set Tanner on edge. He was always so afraid of losing control but he really just needed to learn to trust himself. His abusive background was constantly on his mind and he believed that any show of aggression made him just who he feared the most…his father.

Cynthia Eden is one of my favorite authors for a reason. She never fails to set the scene and make it believable. Everything is always spot on and the level of emotion she evokes in her characters and readers alike is astounding. Her men are always alpha and her females always rise to the occasion. I also love how her stories, though separate, take place in the same world her other books take place in. She mentions other characters from other series and it really just ties everything together so nicely. I’ve never been let down by a Cynthia Eden book and I always look forward to more from this amazing author!

I give Avenging Angel by Cynthia Eden 4.50 stars!

“Julie’s missing. You have to get her back.”The minute he got the message, undercover agent Logan Quinn sprang into action. Getting Juliana James out of Mexico alive was the Elite Ops covert agent’s only priority. But once the senator’s daughter was safely back in their Mississippi hometown, Logan had a new mission: to get another chance with the woman he couldn’t lose again.

Juliana had never forgotten the day, ten years ago, when Logan left her heart in pieces. Now he was back in her life, sworn to protect her from the ruthless weapons dealer who wanted her dead. As passion blindsided her—and she was once again thrust into danger—Julie realized how much she’d risk for one more day in Logan’s arms.

.

Cynthia Eden continues her winning streak in my book with Alpha One, a new series built within the popular Harlequin Intrigue line.  These are a bit shorter then her other books but no less as filling.

Juliana has been kidnapped as collateral to get her shifty senator father to cooperate with one of the most feared weapons dealers on the planet and hand over evidence he had planned to use in his favor. Julie’s father calls the only person he knows will stop at nothing to bring her safely back, Logan, the man who broke her heart. Logan now runs an elite group of covert ops agents who are trained in extraction and specialize in killing. Logan always knew he wasn’t good enough for Julie and his dark secrets about his past make him unable to be completely truthful with her. His guilty conscience eats at him and he was constantly beating himself up for things he never had control of to begin with. Why do alpha males always have to take responsibility for everything? I liked Julie simply because she seemed…real. Her reactions felt honest and her emotions heartfelt.

Alpha One’s villain, weapons dealer, Diego was a complex man. I enjoyed how Eden gave him two personalities and made him seem human, while still being horrible. I could almost believe how his upbringing had shaped his personality against his will and made him into the killer he was. At times he seemed like he wanted to be a better man and yet couldn’t bring himself to change. As if the idea of change scared him. He fell into a grey area where I felt bad for him and I wished he was capable of becoming better and not falling back on his upbringing and using it as an excuse.

The chemistry between Logan and Julie is remarkably hot and coupled with the constant action it really sets itself apart from some of the other romantic suspense I’ve read lately. As they fought their attraction to each other, for different reasons, I wanted to root for them to find happiness. Julie makes a nice transition from being defenseless to finding courage when it’s most needed and not ending up the damsel in distress. I also love when a hero’s control finally snaps, usually in relation to distress on the heroine. When the rigidly controlled male sees red and goes charging…Cynthia Eden excels at these scenes that are wrought with high stakes tension and Alpha One is no exception! Logan at times can appear icily calm, but the depth of his emotion was shockingly deep. I adored him.

Those readers who have read her other books will find this one a bit toned down per Harlequin’s guidelines but honestly it didn’t phase me at all. Not only did I become invested in these main characters but Eden also weaves the threads for future books in as well making a reader want to know more from the secondary characters. I can’t decide which story I want more Gunner/Sydney or Jasper…sigh….I want them ALL lol. Alpha One is sure to please Harlequin and all romantic suspense lovers!

I give Alpha One by Cynthia Eden 4.25 stars!

As a fallen Angel of Death, Azrael is cursed to walk the earth alone in search of redemption. One night, as he wanders the streets of New Orleans, he discovers a woman surrounded by panther shifters. No longer able to contain the anger simmering within, Az summons his dark powers and attacks, determined to protect this innocent human from certain death.

Only Jade Pierce is no delicate flower. She’s spent years learning to survive and fight the evil forces sent by her ex-lover who refuses to let her go. But after seeing Az in action, she figures she could use a little supernatural help. And so she plans a course of seduction guaranteed to arouse his interest and his angelic passions…

.

I LOVE THIS BOOK! After reading the first two books in this series I was eager for Az to get a book because his outlook was so flawed that he just needed to get shown the way. After being an angel for so long, Az has seen just about everything. With a huge chip on his shoulder he has passed judgement on just about everything never realizing that his own time was coming. Now cast out of heaven all he wants is to get back in. Rescuing a damsel in distress is just what he needs to turn the tides back in his favor.

Jade has been on the run from her destructive ex for years. He has been a constant fear and she’s grown tired of running. Az provides her the opportunity to finally be able to be rid of him for good. Though she has no intention of allowing herself to grow attached to Az she finds that his magnetic draw and alpha personality make her wish she could indulge in him, just for a while.

I enjoyed Az immensely. In the beginning he is unwilling to admit his growing attraction to Jade because admitting to feelings at all proves he’s been on earth to long. Emotions are strictly forbidden to angels and to gain access back to heaven Az must prove he is worthy. He doesn’t understand that his showing of emotions started long ago with his rage towards fellow angels and that he was supposed to fall from grace all along. His ineptitude in processing emotions in his physical attraction was, dare I say, cute. There is just something about the alpha male being shown how to love that gets me every time.

I felt bad for Jade but understood her inability to let Az in when they first meet. With a gruesome background like hers I got why she was scared for Az, though he is certainly way sturdier then any of the past men who gotten killed because of her. Yes, her skittishness was understandable and she fought it for a commendable amount of time. I loved her tenacity to protect him even in light of the knowledge  of what he was and how hard it is to injure him. I always enjoy reading heroines who fight not only their attraction but also fight for what they believe in.

Cynthia Eden never fails to entertain with her incredible world building and even better characters! Her heroines are smart, capable and always have a flaw that makes them vulnerable to those who manage to get close. Strong, incredibly gorgeous heros with abs of unbreakable steel round out her equation for greatness and each time I find myself engrossed and eager to turn page after page. Each book provides the readers with a world worthy of escaping to. I would recommend reading this series in order so you can see the full progression of Az and further understand where he came from and the hangups he has in Angel In Chains. Edens Fallen series is a definite favorite of mine and I hope we get more from these deliciously flawed angels!

I give Angel In Chains by Cynthia Eden 5 stars!

They hunger for your pleasure. They growl for your touch. And in these sizzling stories by New York Times bestselling author Shelly Laurenston and Cynthia Eden, these sexy wolf shapeshifters are lust at first bite. . .

“Like A Wolf With A Bone” by Shelly Laurenston
Quiet little Darla Lewis couldn’t be happier when the most-feared member of the South’s rowdiest pack kidnaps her. A girl gets real tired of being overprotected by her own shifter family, and there’s nothing like an oh-so-big bad wolf to start a pack feud, unleash her instincts–and have her surrender however and whenever she wants. . .

“Wed Or Dead” by Cynthia Eden
Gage Ryder knew his human bride had a wild side. But spending their honeymoon night on the run from hunters out to finish him and his pack is sure not the kind of fun he was looking forward to. No problem–Gage will do whatever it takes to lay bare Kayla’s secrets and find the truth. If he can keep from being captured by his own seductive game. . .

.

Like A Wolf With A Bone – Awesome novella addition to Laurenston’s Pack series! I didn’t realize going into this one that it was a prequel of sorts. It actually takes place in the 70′s and is essentially the start of the series with the first couple we’d only seen in passing, Darla and Eggie. First off, love the name Eggie and how Laurenston took me from snorting at the absurdity of the name to finding it endearing quite quickly. Eggie is a big, bad, feared addition to the pack and her prefers to stay on his own…until he rescues Darla from some murdering humans and whisks her away to safety at his house. I enjoyed the look back into this family and coming to understand the dynamics that the two play even in the present. As always a whole slue of secondary characters familiar with the series make appearances that light up the pages with shenanigans unique to this series! Hysterical interactions ensue making this one a captivating and entertaining read!

Laurenston writes southern charm and wit like no one else I have ever read. Her books never cease to make me laugh at the antics of the characters and their egos that know no bounds. Great novella!

Wed or Dead – If you know me at all, you already know that Cynthia Eden is one of my favorite authors. For me to not like her book would take…..well, I don’t really know because it’s never happened. So yeah, I enjoyed this stand alone novella. But really, you should have known that the moment you saw Cynthia Eden’s name on the book.

Kayla is a trained hunter meant to take down the leader of a local pack of wolves named Gage under any circumstances. Even if those circumstances involve marrying him. Which she totally does, but for more reasons then to finish him off after their honeymoon bliss. Gage has grown on her and despite orders and her many secrets she can’t reveal to him, she sides with him. What follows is a whirlwind novella that kept me glued to the pages. In a short amount of time an entire story is told, way more then what you would normally get with this length of book.

Wed or Dead, while being a story line we should all be familiar with at this point (hunter and animal), was a solid read that I enjoyed from beginning to end. It was an easy read full of smoking hot alpha males and a pretty smart (overall) heroine that could hold her own in any situation. Eden writes incredible sex scenes and for that alone I must say..WOW. :)

Great anthology!

I give Howl For It by Shelly Laurenston and Cynthia Eden 4 stars!

The Hellhounds Are Calling

.

Hi, everyone! And I’d sure to like to extend a big thank you to my lovely hostess! I’m so excited to be chatting here today.

For today’s post, I thought I’d talk about two things that you might not necessarily associate…angels and hellhounds. ;)

When I’m writing stories, I like to add extra elements and sneak in new paranormal creatures when I have the chance. Since the hero of my upcoming book, ANGEL BETRAYED, is a fallen angel, I had to wonder…just what would make a fallen angel afraid? I mean fallen angels are tough. They kind of have to be—what with all of that falling from heaven and having their wings burned away bit. But…what do fallen angels fear?

Sammael “Sam”—my hero from ANGEL BETRAYED—doesn’t fear many things. Actually, Sam is the being that most paranormals fear. But we all have a weakness, right? When we’re alone late at night, our fears can whisper to us. No matter how big or strong you are…there is usually something that you fear.

For my fallen angels, I decided that they needed to fear hellhounds. Hellhounds are the only beings capable of dragging a fallen angel down to hell. And that’s not exactly a place that any angel wants to visit. So when a fallen angel catches the scent of brimstone in the air, well, most of the fallen would run away, quickly.

Sam isn’t the running sort. He’s the kind of hero who stays and fights, despite his fear. One of those guys that can laugh when he’s afraid (I’ll never be able to do that!), the kind who can fight while he fears, and, maybe most importantly, he’s the kind that will never let fear control him.

I think I want to be like Sam when I grow up.

But what about you? Do you have any fears that you’ve had to face? Or do you have some fears that you NEVER want to face? Share with me. One person will win a copy of ANGEL BETRAYED (ebook or print book—winner’s choice). Open internationally until 11:59pm EST June 25th 2012 with winner announced the following day.

And, to get you in the mood for the prize, here’s the blurb from ANGEL BETRAYED:

***

Sammael–call him Sam–was an angel once. An angel of death. But the dispassionate, watch-from-above thing just wasn’t working for him when it meant watching evil torture innocent souls day in and day out. It might have cost him his wings, but these days he gets to apply the direct method on the bad guys. Problem is, what’s making his life difficult is a bad girl…

Seline O’Shaw needs protection, and with the hounds of hell on her tail, she’s not going to quibble too hard about where she gets it. Sam’s virtue is questionable, but he’s smoking hot, massively powerful, and owes her a favor. So what if she’s getting a little case of angel lust? There are some damn deadly sins after her hide…

A LITTLE BIT OF ANGEL LUST.

Sammael – call him Sam – was an angel once. An angel of death. But the dispassionate, watch-from-above thing just wasn’t working for him when it meant watching evil torture innocent souls day in and day out. It might have cost him his wings, but these days, he gets to apply the direct method on the bad guys.

There are some damn deadly sins after her hide…

.

Freedom is so close Seline can almost taste it. One last job, that’s it and she can finally be away from those that raised her. Killing Sammael won’t be an easy mark. He’s smart, doesn’t trust anyone and she doesn’t know what he is or what will kill him.

Sammael has been an angel of death for centuries. Now as a fallen angel he’s just as formidable and can still kill with a simple touch. Seline is hiding something and he’s sure of it. She may not know who he is, but he’s not sure about what she is either. But he’s willing to do whatever it takes to figure out her game.

.

Oh Cynthia Eden….I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love your fantastical writing skills. Whenever I feel like I am going into a book slump, I know that if I open one of yours that slump will magically disappear. With each turn of the page you pull me deeper into your story and way to soon I read that last word and have to sadly wait for the next book to come out.

Angel Betrayed is the second book in Cynthia’s “The Fallen” series that focuses on angels who may look heavenly but have a bit of the dark side in them. Readers met Sammael in book one, Angel Of Darkness, and he made quite an impression on this reader then. He’s so cocky and keeps his emotions so shuttered that it became impossible not to want to know him. Seline had no idea just what she was getting into when she baited him to save her in a attempt to get him to help her cause.  The woman definitely had a brave streak a mile wide. Not only did she have the sexy man candy to deal with, but a whole heap of other trouble in the form of paying a debt and trying to leave a fold of people who are all she knows.

Seline, though her exterior was incredibly hard, was self conscience about her parentage and really wasn’t overly sure of what she could or could not do. Having nothing but a scary bedtime story of her past for information. Of course the information was given to her by the man who raised her and who could barely stomach the thought of her but used her to further his hidden agenda.

Sparks flew with these two…even with Seline being at least 1/2 succubus and Sam not being able to stay away from her even though everything told him to. I enjoyed watching these two realize that they didn’t have to be alone anymore. That they could count on someone other then themselves and that they deserved a bit of happiness.

Sammeal is def a alpha type male. I love how Cynthia manages to make her hero’s so strong and yet have some limitation in them that is stopping them from happiness. Watching all their past sins laid bare for the reader in order to finally move on to what they were meant to do, is a journey that I enjoy taking again and again. Cynthia Eden is a master that you need to experience for yourself!

Wonderful continuation of the story arc started in Angel Of Darkness that is leading up to book three- Angel In Chains- which I really hope delves more into Az (the now newly fallen angel) and his personality. I am completely infatuated with him and his bad boy attitude. Everyone seems to think he’s a bad guy, but the glimpses of humanity make me want to know more. Especially now that he is fallen and has to deal with the backlash from that.

I am a sucker for angel lore. I gobble up every story I can find with them and Cynthia is certainly indulging me with this series. Her writing is always engaging, always easy to read and always one of my favorites!

I give Angel Betrayed by  Cynthia Eden 5 stars!

Angels—A Deeper Look

Thanks so much to the very gracious Nikki for having me over! I love visiting!

Today, I thought I’d share some of the background for my upcoming release, ANGEL OF DARKNESS. As the name implies, this book is about—you totally guessed it—angels. And, yes, DEFINITELY, this is a work of fiction. I tried really hard to create some dark, tortured but (hopefully) sexy angels.

But while I was creating those angels, I wasn’t just inventing them purely from my mind. I did my angel research. I consulted angel encyclopedias, I read every angel myth I could find, and I used some biblical assistance. I figure a girl should always explore all of her options. I took my discoveries, merged some ideas, and created a few “just me” slants on the stories…and my dark angels were born.

When readers open my FALLEN books, they may recognize some of the names…like Sammael (“Sam” in my books) or Azrael (yep, I shortened him to “Az”). These two are some of the “big boys” in angel lore, so I couldn’t exclude them from my stories. According to my research, Sammael was considered to be a mix of good and evil, and I tried to carry over that mix in ANGEL OF DARKNESS (and in the second Fallen book, ANGEL BETRAYED—Sammael’s book).

Something else I incorporated from my studies…according to legend, when an angel is near, humans can smell a light, floral scent in the air. (This scent has been cited in so many reference texts that it made me re-think my own life and wonder about any times I might have caught this scent.) So while humans don’t normally see angels, we can smell them—we just don’t realize it’s them that we’re smelling. I added this tidbit in my story as a way of announcing an angel’s presence. When a dark angel is close, sure, you may feel a shiver sliding down your spine, but you may also smell something sweet. I love the opposite nature of the angels—powerful and dark, but with a sweet smell that can trick you.

And the angels I’ve written about are dark. They aren’t sweet, innocent guardian angels who want to take of humans. They’re death angels and punishment angels. They can destroy with a touch—and they often do. Throughout history, angels have been revered—and feared. In my stories, humans are definitely right to fear the angels…because an Angel of Death can kill with a touch.

Or, in my Fallen world…the angel can seduce with that touch, too…

Now tell me…do you think you’d make a good angel? Would you be a protective guardian angel, carefully watching over your charge? Or would you be the type of angel who’s eager to hand out punishments to unlucky mortals? One commenter will be randomly selected to win ANGEL OF DARKNESS.

Thanks for checking out my post! And for those in the U.S., have a great Thanksgiving! Contest open internationally and will close on Nov 25th at 11:59 pm with the winner announced on the 26th ;)

As an angel of death, Keenan’s job is to collect the souls on his list. He’s carried out his duty for two thousand years and never faltered once. Until he meets Nicole St. James. When the moment of death comes, Keenan hesitates, and instead of taking Nicole, Keenan touches the vampire who’s attacking her.

Cast out of heaven for disobedience, Keenan plummets to earth. Six months later, he finally manages to track Nicole to a bar in Mexico. He’s stunned to discover that the woman he remembers has undergone a dramatic change—she’s become a vampire. And when he realizes that she’s the target of all manner of enemies—other vampires, demons, even shifters—he’ll do whatever it takes to protect her, even if all hell breaks loose…

.

He never expected the pain when he fell. Keenan has been an angel of death for centuries. Moving through life with no emotion just calm directability. Never second guessing the souls he was to ferry to the afterlife. Until he laid eyes on Nicole St James. The raven haired beauty made him falter when it was her turn to be taken. Instead of killing her with his touch, he killed her vampire attacker in a moment of vulnerability. Paying the ultimate price, he fell from grace to save her life. One problem, she died that night anyway and what came back was a confident, over sexed, royally pissed off woman who has it out for anyone that had a hand in her death.

Nicole St James never asked for this, never wanted what she has become. The things she did before she got control of herself are heinous and she swears she’ll never succumb to the  blood lust again. Peoples lives depend on it. Things are swiftly getting out of control though. The hunter is becoming the hunted and she needs Keenan nearby whether she wants to admit it or not. It’s a good thing the angel is easy on the eyes as well as useful.

When heaven and hell collide who will still be standing when the dust settles? Can Nicole risk the one thing she values more than her life? Her heart?

.

Angel Of Darkness is book one in Cynthia’s new series she has entitled, The Fallen. I always bounce around with excitment when I hear she has started a new series because I simply adore her work. There has never been a Cynthia Eden book that I didn’t love and Angel Of Darkness did not start that either. This series is loosely tied to some of her other books and there are a few characters that turn up or are talked about that you may recognize.

I have an unhealthy obsession with angels. Some readers claim they are played out because the book market is saturated with a ton of stories, especially romance, filled with angels of every kind. Even a few demons that could pass for an angel of some sort. Problem is, I can’t get enough. I love each authors take on angels. What makes them good, what keeps them in line, are there angels for both sides or just for the good? There is just something about a character meeting an angel for the first time. Realizing that they are real so there must be life after death and it totally helps they are smoking hot. :) I always think of the tv show Supernatural that has used angels in its theme for the past few seasons. They aren’t always good looking, lol, but the idea that they made them corrupt had me intrigued. If humans are flawed, then angels should be too.

In Angel Of Darkness Keenan is a flawed angel. After centuries of not feeling anything he finally felt a spark…and that spark was lust. Nicole made him pause in his duty. He made a decision to save her life which went against everything that he has ever known. I loved the idea that he could finally feel and what he did with this new feeling was immediately defy his superiors. Who says whose name is on the list? Who makes the list? Why can’t it be changed? All questions that seem very human, asked often.

Nicole starts out the book simply wanting revenge for the vamp and his “buddy” that turned her and atonement for her sins as a new vampire. I found that funny since they are exact opposites and even though she was no longer human she sure still thought like one. Her slow warming up to Keenan was to be expected and I enjoyed the process for them. Nicole wasn’t nearly as new to everything as Keenan was and it was nice to see the table turned and the male be new to everything.

I loved Sam (aka Samuel) and his pessimistic and completely underhanded way to get Keenan to see his returning powers. He was manipulative and sometimes downright mean. I loved him because even though he is both of those he was there when he needed to be. His brief glimpses of tightly controlled emotion made the book for me. Can’t wait for his book, which I *think* is next!

Azreal…or Az, was thought provoking and I loved how Cynthia made him drunk with power. Being the head honcho of the angels of death had to be a horrible job. Even though they weren’t supposed to feel emotion I thought Az’s ability to feel power and contempt was a great addition and made him into a huge hypocrite. I would love to see what happened after the ending of this one and hope he shows up again at some point. The man, err angel, needs to learn about humans a bit more.

Angel of Darkness is a gritty thrill ride sprinkled with enough human emotion to make even the hardest of angels melt. Sure to be a page turner for you and something that will make you think about all those stories you may have heard as a kid. Who is watching over us? Who is really in charge? And is it so bad here on earth, or are we actually the lucky ones?

I give Angel of Darkness by Cynthia Eden 4.50 stars!

Running With A Dangerous Crowd

Lucas Simone is not the kind of guy you mess with. He’s big, he’s strong, and his eyes hint at a wilder side most women can’t handle. Of course, that’s because his predatory instincts are no metaphor—he’s a genuine Grade-A top-quality werewolf, tough enough to fight his way to dominance over the scariest pack on the West Coast. There’s only one chink in his armor. Unlike most alpha dogs, Lucas has a reputation for protecting the weak and innocent.

Sarah King is counting on that protective impulse—it’s the only thing standing between her and certain death. There are only two problems: one, she’s not quite as innocent as she’d like Lucas to believe. And two, if he doesn’t stop stoking Sarah’s animal lust, it’s only a matter of time before her own wild side gets unleashed.

.

Cynthia Eden know how to deliver a story. I have read almost everything she has published and I’ve loved every single one of them. Her stories are action packed, sensual and opens the door into your imagination. Anything is possible with her books. Never Cry Wolf is just another example.

This book, while it is a stand alone, also ties into her older book, Immortal Danger by bringing in the crossover characters of Maya and Adam.

Sarah is running scared. Being an animal charmer whose animal of choice is the psychotic wolf shifters is bad enough. But her wolf lover betrayed her and now wants her dead. Very very dead. Her only chance for survival is to gain protection from a pack. Sarah is willing to play the submissive role if it gains her their trust. She can’t afford to lay all her hands on the table though, her secrets are hers and hers alone. She may not be as weak a human as she appears to be.

The appearance of Sarah is something Lucas is very suspicious about. She is everything that seems to make his inner beast roar in protective fury. She is a warm and supple human female, but her eyes hold secrets her mouth isn’t saying. Lucas knows there is more to her story then she is willing to share.

The wolves are descending in rapid pace. With the help of some black magic, Lucas and Sarah are outnumbered but will their growing feelings for each other be enough to keep them alive?

.

Loved loved loved this book! Lucas and Sarah exploded on every page. From the first moment Sarah saunters into the jail in her saucy clothes, to the climactic ending where love really does conquer all…*le sigh*…loved. I loved that Sarah played Lucas to a tee and that Lucas totally knew what was going on the entire time. He pulled no punches and was extremely blunt in his reactions to not only Sarah but everyone else as well. His animalistic need to protect was incredibly sexy..and the sex….ooooh the sex. Cynthia Eden can write smexy scenes that will leave you itching to go get you a little sumthin sumthin.

I really connected with Sarah. She was human in a very non human world but her abilities made her just a little bit “more”. How cool would it be to talk to animals? Very Dr Dolittle. She felt left out. Not quite in the shifter world and not quite in the human one either. Stuck between two normalcy’s in two very opposite worlds. Her need to fit in with the wolves was a great storyline. She saw it as a liability but I think wolves would be great to be connected with. I mean she could have got anteaters or sloths or something equally uncool.

The only thing I didn’t like was the semi quick ending to the villain. I love the drawn out scenes at the climax and I thought as those scenes go this was over pretty quick. I also thought there could have been a few more instances where the villain could have come at Sarah. Also the side stories (unless there are more books which I will get into in a minute) were extremely open ended.

While Cynthia says nothing is in the works currently, the secondary characters of Dane and Piers really need to be told. (Puh-lease Cynthia? Purty please even?) Dane…omg sexy. He’s scarred and slightly cocky and I think I want to jump him right now. Piers is dark and completely untrusting and kind of mean. I think breaking his exterior would be a very fun adventure for the right female. I did snicker at his name though because the first thing I thought of was Piers Morgan:

Piers is not a common name and so that is the picture I conjured when I reads it. Can you see him as a sexy werewolf? Yeah me either. I see him more as a snarky British talent judge. Oh wait…he is. He’s no Simon Cowell though. I *might* be able to picture him as a sexy werewolf…wearing a black v-neck tee-shirt LOL.

Back on topic…Never Cry Wolf is a sexy romp into paranormal romance that I know you will enjoy! Sexy, suspenseful and a fun read, Cynthia Eden continues her winning streak with me! Who has two thumbs and loves Cynthia’s writing? This girl!

I give Never Cry Wolf by Cynthia Eden 4.50 stars!
