Cherry Adair Interview & GIVEAWAY

isis-scribe-pageToday I have the awesomely awesome (hush, I can say what I want) of authors! Today I have bestselling author many times over, Cherry Adair! Welcome back Cherry! Let’s talk about your newest book, Relentless!

Relentless mostly takes place in Egypt. You’ve used this region before. What is it about this area/culture that fascinates you?Cairo_Couple

I’ve always been fascinated by Egypt, even as a little girl. Maybe it’s a reincarnation thing? I’m pretty sure I was a slave, because I still have an aversion to housework! lol

You love to put your heroines in situations that are completely out of their element, but yet all of them are extremely capable. Isis is a prime example of a woman believing herself out of her element. When you’re brainstorming ideas what is your process with character development? Do they just jump out at you or do you have to think about it?

The best characters for me are ones who arrive fully formed in my head. But that’s not always the case. I start with their birthday (decided very quickly with absolutely no thought) I build their personality from the character traits of that sun sign. If that is who I want them to be, great. If not (better!) I have to give them the life experiences that formed them into whoever I want them to be when the story starts.

Connor2Can you give us a favorite line or excerpt from Relentless?

“You have to go now.”

“Go?” He blinked her into focus. “Go where?”

“To your own room. I’m not having sex with you tonight, James Connor Thorne.”

“You’ve got to be- Why the bloody hell not?”

“Because you’re just not ready for me.”

.

She was a tightwad who made every penny work twice, once for each side. He could go first class. She’d go coach. Thorne purchased two first class tickets, and told her to shut up and enjoy her heated nuts.

.

The kiss was wild and bordered on rough. It was the kind of kiss long term lovers shared, not the touch of two virtual strangers.

Each of your books, regardless of series, are action packed with car chases, weapons and suspense. Do you have multiple contacts in different fields for research, or do you deal with only one or two main people? Have any funny research stories?

I have multiple people from all walks of life who are fabulous about sharing their experience with me. I had a heroine who was a nuclear physicist (seriously? What was I thinking?) I didn’t know anyone who knew anyone. I mentioned the dilemma to my husband, and he said “Oh, I know a guy.” “You know a guy?” It turned out he knew a man from dog agility who was a nuclear physicist! When asked, the physicist was delighted to help me. I told him what I needed my heroine to know or say, and he gave me the tech speak. That was the only time I’ve ever had a character who I didn’t understand! I had to send the finished scene to him so that he could tell me if what I’d written made sense. LolIsis Thorne 3

Over the course of the Lodestone series you have hinted at the re-appearance of Gideon. Will readers ever see him again? Come on, TELL MEEEEEEE!!!

IF Gideon Stark is alive (a- Gideon Stark is such a great name for a hero and b- his body was never found) I’m sure he’ll surface in 2014.

Ooh you’re sneaky! Thank you so much for stopping to talk to us today!

Lately, the gods are not smiling on Isis Magee. How else can she explain the bizarre events that have led her on a relentless high-stakes chase from Seattle to London to Cairo in search of the elusive tomb of history’s beautiful and enigmatic queen Cleopatra?

A Hidden Treasure

Isis has only two leads: a fragmented trail of clues offered in rare moments of lucidity by her father, a once-respected archaeologist whose last dig ended in disaster, and the unique sixth sense of sexy Lodestone agent Connor Thorne.

The Passion of a Lifetime

Connor also encountered tragedy in the Egyptian desert not long ago, and as Isis pulls him deeper into her mission to restore her father’s reputation, he is secretly plotting a revenge of his own. Propelled across wild, untamed sands by vicious unknown forces, the duo is seduced into a labyrinth of secret chambers. When they fear they can go no further, they surrender to their incendiary desires and discover that the prize each separately seeks may be waiting at the end of the same dangerous road.

The find of the century will be lost unless Isis McGee and Connor Thorne unravel the truth behind an ancient Egyptian secret. Isis McGee believes her father, once a world-renowned archaeologist  when he claims to have found the Egyptian tomb that’s been his life’s work. However, between August McGee’s crumbled reputation and painful descent into Alzheimer’s, Isis needs help re-finding the tomb before the valley where it’s located is flooded for a much-needed dam. But the only proof her father has is an artifact that’s been stolen. And all she has to jump start the search is the exquisite gold outer box that held the relic.

Ex-MI5 agent Connor Thorne had a near death experience in Afghanistan five years ago. There, love and duty collided, leaving him bitter, disillusioned, and with a special talent for finding lost things. Now working for Lodestone, he uses his uncanny sixth sense to find lost or stolen objects, which makes him the perfect operative to help Isis McGee find her father’s lost tomb. But Conner hates deserts, and the last thing he wants is a beautiful woman tagging along while he does his job.

From Seattle, to London and Cairo, they are in a race to find the clues before the sands of time run out. Red-hot passion ignites in the desert heat as Connor and Isis must outwit a faceless enemy more powerful, more ruthless, than either can imagine.

.

As much as it pains me to say this, I just am not a huge fan of this book. I read the ARC so it’s feasible that some last minute changes were made in order to fix some of the issues, but since I don’t have time to read the finished copy, I’m going to just call it like I see it based on what I read.

Isis is intent on proving her wayward archaeologist father found Cleopatra’s lost tomb and she’s coerced Conner into coming along for the ride using what little money she has left to hire the Lodestone agent to help her track her fathers last movements. Her father safely tucked away in a nursing home suffering from dementia from a blow to the head in an attack that left only him alive on his last dig….the one where he claims to have found the tomb.  Isis is stubborn and gets what she wants out of Conner by sheer force of will. Even though her bubbly attitude grated on me, I loved her tenacity to see it through to the end and prove her father wasn’t crazy. She’s not impervious to the danger and that felt like a real reaction coming from a photographer. She often needed reassurance from Conner about her safety and I was glad that by that point in the book Conner was able to give it to her without acting like a jerk. They are pursued by a variety of shadowy baddies who seem to have it out for both of them making identifying them difficult. I’m no doctor but since Conner walks with a limp and severe pain in his one leg I didn’t find the fight scenes believable. I liked he had limitations because often heros seem superhuman, but if his leg was that bad how did he managed to kick the shit out of trained professional hit men?

The relationship between Conner and Isis felt forced and superficial. I wanted to like them together but Conner comes across as such a huge pompous ass for most of the book. He has good reason I suppose, with his injury from an op gone wrong and forced hiatus from British Intelligence but it didn’t make it easier to digest or make his actions ok. He’s a stereotypical British man…too good for Isis and her little problem of finding a Egyptian tomb. Isis is the complete opposite from Conner and appears to have a personality akin to a Starbucks employee at 7am on a Sunday. You know…annoyingly happy…all the time. She refutes his snappy behavior each time and despite his surliness, she wants in his pants. So the romance aspect was seriously lacking. When Conner finally thaws out and he and Isis come together the  sex was unremarkable. In fact I might call it boring. Because I didn’t feel any tension or draw to their relationship the sex felt like just a continuation in the story. Later in the book Conner does loosen up a bit and I did eventually grow to like him…somewhat…

The ending was just that. An ending. Very anti-climatic and quiet for a suspense type book. Things tied up neatly and bad guys Conner had been after for years are suddenly apprehended without fanfair. Much too tidy for my tastes.

I did enjoy all the Egyptian information and thought it made the books descriptive scenes really stand out. Adair excels at setting the scene no matter where her books are set. From the snowy mountains to the dusty deserts you never have any problems seeing her vision. Very Indiana Jones.

Relentless lost me early on, and though I did finish it, I wasn’t ever fully back on board. I liked book 1 and 2 of this series so I will be back for book 4 hoping we finally get to see Gideon, Zak’s (owner of Lodestone) missing brother who has been presumed dead since book 1.

I give Relentless by Cherry Adair 3 stars!

T-FLAC is back, and the timer is counting down in the most pulse-pounding explosive op yet—

.

Cherry Adair makes a triumphant return to a popular long running  series with Ice Cold, a romantic suspense she self published. Ice Cold brings readers back to the roots of the T-FLAC agency and gives them a pulse pounding thrill ride that is sure to please black ops lovers everywhere. It’s dark, it’s gritty and Ice Cold pulls no punches.

Honey is an operative that is known for her icy exterior. No one can get close to her and she appears to care more about her computers then she does about the human beings she works with everyday. Trained by the best, no one cracks her shell. Until Rafael Navarro takes her to the floor in a fight that neither of them was prepared for while a co-worker lays dead not 10 feet away. With the evidence stacking up against Honey by her doppelganger,  her and Navarro must work together to clear her name and uncover a plot intent on destroying everyone around them.

Black ops books are tricky for me. There has to be a balance between the military/action/ covert operations and the romance in the story. I find that too much of the spy stuff and my attention starts to wane pretty quickly. I crave the romance, which is of course why I’m reading the book to begin with. Ice Cold did get a bit slow in parts. Cherry Adair pays such attention to detail that it can be tedious at times. Almost overwhelming because the tactical terms used are ones you may not know the meaning to and so you have to stop and look things up or re-read sections to understand the grand scope of what she’s trying to tell you. So in that respect I was lost quite often. Other readers will revel in that detail and have no problems understanding the meanings, especially those that read black ops characters often. However, in the romance dept, she’s spot on! Honey and Navarro are a couple that is not to be messed with. Both super spies they were on an equal playing field and spent the majority of the book either bouncing ideas off each other or bouncing on a bed lol. Honey was an excellent heroine because she was the embodiment of a strong, capable woman. I enjoyed her many dimensions and her obvious love for the man who raised her after her parents died. Her protective instinct of those close to her and her ability to think under stress were also good qualities.

The protective instinct in Navarro wasn’t just present it overrode him in any instance that added Honey to the equation. Together these two were extremely hot as each worked through their pasts and how it had shaped them into the people they were today. I enjoyed not only that but the intrigue that surrounded everyone they worked with and how those trusted closed ranks and formulated intricate plans to take down the baddies. Navarro’s bomb knowledge was very extensive and it added to the air of thrill throughout the novel.

Overall I think Ice Cold hits the mark and is very enjoyable! Sub genre lovers are sure to agree! Ice Cold is a page turner you need to experience!

I give Ice Cold by Cherry Adair 3.75 stars!

SWEPT AWAY

Searching for a sunken ship off the coast of Peru, treasure hunter Logan Cutter manages to pull a very different kind of prize from the sea—beautiful gallery owner Daniela Rosada. Dani claims she was thrown overboard by ruthless pirates and begs for his protection. But Logan is no strnager to a woman’s lies, and something about her story doesn’t add up.

IN TOO DEEP

With her knowledge of Peruvian artifacts, Dani offers to help Logan translate an ancient map that will lead them to a shipwrecked treasure—and into a carefully laid trap. But the closer they get, the deeper she falls for him, not realizing that Logan is hiding a secret of his own. By the time she learns the truth about his boat, his brothers—and his blood feud with pirates—it’s too late. By falling in love, they’ve set a course for disaster…

.

Cherry Adair is a master storyteller who can pull you in and hook you from the first page! That is exactly what happened when I picked up Vortex when it opened with a daring ocean rescue. Though I was a previous fan of this series, Logan Cutter didn’t fail me or let me down either. I instantly liked him and his steadfast ways. He ruled his boat with iron clad certainty but it was evident how much he cared about his crew and the friendships he had forged in business. He is a shrewd businessman when it comes to Cutter Salvage but his private relationships, though orderly, are what really drives him. Particularly the relationships with his brothers Nick and Zane. He strives to keep the family close and not let the past with their father keep them from all they can be in the present. Logan, as the oldest, saw the most growing up and has shielded his brothers as much as he could over the years. Now with both brothers having fiances and adding to their small family, Logan sees it as his job to keep everyone in the fold.

When he pulls a woman out of the water on the cusp of finding a long lost treasure who seems to know exactly what he is looking for and how to find it, he is instantly suspicious. Going with his gut he allows the woman to lead him in a different direction from his original course and in the process finds himself drawn to the mystery and danger that seems to be following in her wake.

Our heroine is Daniela and though I was completely confused by her story for the first couple of chapters it quickly came together after that. On the run from a vicious ex she stumbles into another danger altogether, her thieving family. Long lost cousins wanting a piece of the family heirloom hidden at the bottom of the ocean just waiting for Logan Cutter to salvage. Throwing her into the water and counting on Logan’s hero complex the cousins essentially use Daniela as bait.

Daniela is headstrong, confident but somewhat broken from her last few encounters with her ex. Afraid of water, enclosed spaces and large domineering men, she is rightfully skiddish upon first boarding the ship. Her quick wit and will to live made her likable as much as her ability to overcome her fears. Her instant connection with Logans dog, aptly named Dog, was heartwarming. I loved her intent on naming the wolf hybrid throughout the book by throwing out different names each time she called him. I wondered tho….a dog on a salvage boat….where did it go to the bathroom? Did they suit him up after every meal in his life vest and let him crap in the water….can dogs ever do that? They can’t squat out there. Was that some poor saps job description? Follow the dog around on the poop deck with a plastic bag? Do salvage boats even have poop decks ( I don’t even know if that’s real…but I remember hearing it somewhere lol)? Ok….I’ll stop now. Regardless, Dog was a great addition to the story.

I loved all the secondary characters but particularly Jed and Wes. Jed is Logan’s second in command on the boat and I do believe he has a little crush on a rival boat captain known only as the “red-headed sea bitch”. A woman who seems to show up in every book intent on pilfering a few trinkets from each Cutter brother. I have my suspicions about her motivations but either way I think Jed my have a little thing for her. Wes is a fellow diver and good friend of Logan. He is a hulking brute of a man who also happens to be gay. I loved that while Wes did have a stereotypical good fashion sense, on a boat of close knit men, no one seemed to single him out based on his sexual orientation.  They all seemed at ease with it and I liked that.

TFLAC agent Micheal White once again makes an appearance in the series. I love the incorporation of those guys into this series and am really looking forward to a new TFLAC book due out this fall!!!!

Vortex is a wonderfully written addition to the literary ranks of contemporary romances! Filled with excellent imagery, peppered with action and a simmering heat that is sure to please romance readers everywhere. Now that Adair has written  a book involving each original brother and with the surprising addition of half brother Jonah in Riptide, I am looking forward to seeing where this series goes from here!

I give Vortex by Cherry Adair 4.5 stars!

My Big Honking RT Post

Hey everyone! So I know most everyone knows, but I got an amazing opportunity to go to the huge RT convention in Chicago recently. First and foremost I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU (even though I said it profusely to her while attending the convention…seriously, I gushed) to the awesome Cherry Adair for making it happen. She is the most humble, lovely, gracious, wonderful woman I have ever met. The woman would give the coat off her back to a person in need….and she has. So anyway, thank you yet again for allowing me to be your guest for the weekend. You truly, don’t know what it means to me.

You know there isn’t one pic with everyone in it?? DAMN! Here we are with Cherry:

Ok…enough gushy gushy! RT, for a person like me (who doesn’t like crowds) RT can be a bit overwhelming. There are so many events and so many people that it is seriously impossible to fit everything in. I missed so many people that I wanted to see! There just wasn’t enough time in my two days to get to everyone. Even as liquored up as I was a girl needs to sleep!  I went in with a group of 8 ladies….and roomed with 3 of them. Never met them, had only talked online and well, that just spells disaster right? Four women that don’t get along stuck in a hotel room for 2 days. That’s a newspaper headline waiting to happen right there. Sleeping with a stranger? Generally I say no to that. Unless maybe that stranger happen to be the guy in the next picture. Turns out Maureen (from Bitch Can Write A Book)  and I got along perfectly. We even spooned a bit in the bed. *wink wink* In fact we all got along perfectly. It was like the cosmos aligned just for us. We laughed…a lot. We joked continuously. We are all sarcastic bitches smart asses. Who knew? Here we are with one of the cover models…Scott:

Notice how I got right on in there. Yeah that was on purpose and my hands may or may not have been in a appropriate place. Ok….they weren’t.

I was completely unprepared for the shear amount of people so I forgot a lot of things. Like at the massive book signing I forgot my book plates up in the room. I know what you’re thinking, why didn’t I just go get them? Well the doors are guarded by RT people and I kinda figured my luck would be that I’d go up and not be aloud back in. Seriously, they almost jumped me for going to the bathroom in the wrong part of the hotel. So I guess signed book plates will have to wait till Lori Fosters event in June. I walked around with a dazed look and met a TON of authors. Shawntelle Madison, Cynthia Eden, Virna Depaul, Monica Burns, Daisy Harris, Lynn Rush, Shiloh Walker, Laurie London, Larissa Ione, JR WARD (who has body guards yall! Like does someone want to take her out or something??…also she looks like Trinity from The Matrix. I expected her to vault out of the chair and sprint across the room…which would have been hella cool)….I know I’m forgetting ppl. Did I take pics? Nope. I was shell shocked.  I have been waiting to meet Cynthia Eden for YEARS. She probably thinks I’m a huge goof. I kinda just stood there and stammered. I wasn’t even drinking….at that point. :) I think I may have gotten a few intelligent sentences out for Larissa Ione . I was just praying no one asked me something specific about their books because I would have blanked and looked like a complete asshat. Seriously, I read your books I promise…don’t test me don’t test me!

Side note: you’d be surprised how much business goes down at the bar. I made some new contacts, handed out some business cards. The weirdest thing for me though was when people knew who I was. I mean for REAL??? I’m just a blogger. To have someone actually know who I am blows my mind. I can’t tell you how cool it was to see “Where is NikiB??” on my twitter feed. I’m all “OVER HERE!!!!!”

Laurie London is my new bestie! She’s super nice and hung out with us in line for awhile just chatting it up.

Lynn Rush and I got accosted trying to take a picture. I never did figure out why he was skulking around…but he was definitely “handsy”

Here are a couple of us at the Harlequin party. I had a couple of drinks…can you tell?

And here is a picture of the dance floor. There were MAYBE 5 guys in the joint. 3 were cover models, 1 was the announcer, and then this guy, who I *think* writes gay romance. He was working it all over the place. Yes he has his shirt in his hand and yes he is wearing a tank top.

So since the hotel wasn’t actually in downtown Chicago I really only saw it from a distance but on the way home the girls I rode with from Indiana took me to see the skyline. I’m such a country girl…I got excited that I could see the trains from the hotel room. Speaking of on the way home…spending all weekend in a romance convention talking about sex makes everything look just a bit dirty. Am I the only one that thinks that??

On the way home from Indiana my Navigation decided to be a douche and completely change my route. I had zero clue where I was for the majority of the time and so I was hoping and praying the mechanical female voice knew where she was going. I did see my very first wind farm on the way back though. And I *may* have drove off the road a little to get a pic. Hey, it was a deserted road. Because I’m pretty sure Rt 30 is the devil’s armpit. Seriously, nothing there for what felt like YEARS.

So….in the coming weeks I will have a ton…and I mean a TON of swag to give away. That shit is like rabbits. I took maybe 5 pieces and when I got home I had a few hundred. I even scored some books for my readers. I love you too *muah*. Most likely will do that on FB and Twitter so watch out for it!

I hope someday to be able to experience this conference again! Now the countdown to Lori Foster’s event begins! And bonus, a lot of my girls (I call them my girls…the 7 that came) will be at this event too! YAY!! Meet you at the bar ladies!

Pleasure with a price.

A high-profile celebrity wedding in Monaco is the kind of A-list event security specialist Rand Maguire excels at. Everything goes like clockwork, until guests start inexplicably losing all their inhibitions. . . .

Painful secrets from the past.

Rand is no stranger to the effects of Rapture. His chemist father’s attempt at a cure for depression caused Rand’s mother’s death years ago, and put his father away for her murder. Now, someone is circulating Rapture in a campaign of terror, intending to manufacture and sell it on a global scale. But with no leads, Rand feels the heat.

Passion with no limits.

Sexy Lodestone agent Dakota North is sent to help Rand kickstart his search, armed only with her uncanny sixth-sense. But what they discover in their race across Europe is more far-reaching and lethal than an erotic street drug. From a Barcelona bank heist to a million-dollar arms deal in Paris, Dakota and Rand giving in to an insatiable craving for each other in nights of pure carnal delight, no senses left untouched. No Rapture necessary.

.

Coming back to the one man that broke her heart was something Dakota never thought she’d have to do. When Rand broke up with her over misinterpretations and lies she never could get him to see the light and she long ago gave up trying. Now the drug she helped to engineer has resurfaced with horrible complications. Only Dakota can track it down, whether Rand wants to admit it or not.

All Rand knows is his sexy ex fiance is a liar. One ultimately responsible for his mothers death and the imprisonment of his father. Now the drug she helped make makes a appearance at a wedding his security firm is heading up? That’s to many coincidences for him and he’s out to prove that his ex lover knows exactly what’s going on and is possibly behind the entire leak.

With the clock ticking, a sadistic underground community afoot and a vicious drug set to take over anyone who dares try it, Dakota and Rand will have to put their differences aside in order to stop the production and maybe along the way realize that past mistakes can be made right.

.

Afterglow is the second book in Cherry Adair’s Lodestone series and a book that I have been highly anticipating. After reading the first book, Hush, and loving it I was eagerly awaiting this one. Ms Adair is a author that can transport me to another place. Make me live along side the characters and breathe with them. Afterglow starts with a bang…and by bang I mean multiple orgasms…from everyone. Even grandma. Rapture, a highly experimental and subsequently banned and destroyed drug has popped back up and at a Hollywood starlets wedding no less. What was engineered as a anti depressant has some dangerous side effects. Zero inhibitions, ravenous sex drives and highly addictive to the point of death. People basically hump till they die. Now…I don’t know about you…but I think the story line is simply awesome. Highly creative and something I hadn’t read up till this point. Aside from the humping grandmas and death part, I’m totally down with a multiple orgasm, have sex till you pass out drug. Where can I get me some of that?

Rand is the head of security firm that had been hired to work the wedding and reception. Having the drug smuggled in under his nose made this very personal to him and he seemed determined to  figure it out and place the blame on ex-flame Dakota who had been sent to investigate. Dakota worked for the drug company before she was fired when they shut down. Unbeknownst  to him Dakota was involved in the explosion that rocked the lab and she had ended up in the hospital just weeks after he accused her of being a liar and a whore who provided his scientist father with the drugs that killed his mother.  I can’t tell you how many times  I yelled at Dakota..good lord woman tell him you were in the hospital! Call him a ASS! Tell him he’s a awful human being for not believing in you!

While I found Rand to be a stubborn jerk I also found him hot. Explain that one Freud. I loved how even though he was ticked at Dakota (for reasons that were WRONG but I digress) he was still protective and looked out for her. He knew he needed her ability to track. When they get dosed with Rapture themselves I liked how he seemed to be able to control himself but he let his inner desires finally take over and treat Dakota with the intensity which she deserved. Plus, halfway mad sex is always hotter. *wink wink*.

I loved Dakota’s ability to work with a man who showed so much contempt for her. She felt responsible for the drugs creation and so she needed to see this through no matter how much Rand may have hated her. I envied her ability to let go and forgive him for the way she was treated.

Afterglow again deals with a slightly paranormal aspect. This seems to be popping up more and more in romantic suspense books lately. In Hush the main character could track someone using a string of coordinates that ran through his mind. Dakota can do that and track someone using just a personal item of theirs. Is it typical romantic suspense? Well, no. I enjoy all types of books within the genre though so I don’t have an issue with it. Undoubtedly someone will though.

Cherry Adair will take you on a thrill ride every time. Always original. Always heartfelt. Always gaurenteed to keep me coming back for more!

I give Afterglow by Cherry Adair 4 stars!

First, I’ve lived in the USA longer than I lived in South Africa. (although I still, apparently, have my accent) And it’s been a very long time since I went back. Growing up in Cape Town was pretty much like growing up in say California or Peoria. I’m aware that some people think South Africa is covered by jungle with wild animals roaming around, but I lived in a suburb outside a large, cosmopolitan city. I *did* hear the lions roaring at night however, but that was because we lived a mile from the Cape Town zoo.

Since many of your books takes place in Europe what would say your biggest hurdle in research is?

.

These days it doesn’t matter where a book is set, research is merely a click away. I do a lot of research and fact-checking on line, but I’m fortunate to have readers all over the world, and chances are, if I ask, they are happy to answer. The tricky part is not putting in more information than the reader might want to know, just because *I’m* fascinated. I’ve had readers tell me the route from one place to another, and/or send me pictures of what they saw along the road. I’ve had fans go to a location to count how many steps there are to a particular building. Now I realize no one cares how many steps there are, or if the souk was on the left or the right, or if they sold pineapples not papayas, but I care. This information makes what I love to do even more fun for me, and hopefully for the readers as well.

Afterglow deals with the complexity of the drug making and distribution. Do you have firsthand knowledge of drug manufacturing? HAHA. How did you do research on that?

.

Oh, no! You found my illegal lab??!! lol Nope. No firsthand knowledge, but I have fantastic and reliable resources. I started out with my local pharmacist, then talked to a doctor, drug counselor, physiatrist, drug manufacturer and also a drug rep. And after compiling 40 plus hours’ worth of conversations, on just this one subject, there’s barely a breath of any of that information in the book! That’s the problem with research, a little information goes a loooong way. AFTERGLOW is a romance, not a text book. lol

.

What do you do when you hit a roadblock in your writing?

.

It’s pretty rare for me to hit roadblocks because I always plot before I sit down to write a new book. But if I’m stalled it’s probably due to one of three things- I need a break because my brain is fried. Or because I have the scene in the wrong persons point of view. Or because I didn’t plot well. Or (#4 out of 3) the scene isn’t supposed to be written-. J

Thanks, Nikki – I always love to visit you, you ask such interesting question. J
