Thanks Nikki for letting me share on your blog!
Before I was a writer, I was a reader. My father was a sailor and I spent my early childhood on ships with books as my constant companions. Instead of real children, I went adventuring with the young characters of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five. Later, the laugh-out-loud Three Singles To Adventure by Gerald Durrell helped me get over a high school heartbreak. And when my son was born seven weeks early and we had to spend sixty two days in the hospital, I read Elmer Kelton’s The Time It Never Rained out loud to him. I didn’t know if he’d make it or not, and I wanted to share a good story with him.
Unfortunately, there are many who will never know the comfort of a good book. According to the UNICEF, 67 million children are currently not enrolled in school worldwide.
I’m thankful for my ability to read and I would like to pay it forward by donating fifty percent of the proceeds of A TALE OF TWO DJINNS to UNICEF. I need your help. I hope you will consider picking up A Tale of Two Djinns, and if you enjoy the read, I hope you will tell others about it. Thanks in advance. I hope together we will make a difference.

Akshay, warrior prince of the earth djinns, earns the title of Crown Prince at a high cost when he loses his best friend in a battle against ancient enemies, the water djinns. Heartsick, he escapes to Earth to mourn and lose himself in drink.
Nothing gets the biological clock ticking (and elders lecturing) like almost dying in battle, so Maya, princess of the water djinns, travels to Earth for some no-strings-attached sex to fulfill her duty and produce an heir. But the beautiful and tough warrior gets more than she bargained for when she meets Shay.
Their not-so-simple one-night stand is interrupted by assassins and the world, as they know it, is changed forever. As Maya and Shay pull together to survive, both are determined to have their happily-ever-after and bring peace to their worlds — warring families, shadow assassins, and nosy busybodies be damned.
A TALE OF TWO DJINNS should be available now at Amazon, B & N, Smashwords, iTunes and other places.

Author Bio:
Mina Khan is a Texas-based writer and food enthusiast. She daydreams of hunky paranormal heroes, magic, mayhem and mischief and writes them down as stories. Between stories, she teaches culinary classes and writes for her local newspaper. Other than that, she’s raising a family of two children, two cats, two dogs and a husband.
She grew up in Bangladesh on stories of djinns, ghosts and monsters. These childhood fancies now color her fiction. Her debut novella, THE DJINN’S DILEMMA was published November 2011. A second novella, A TALE OF TWO DJINNS, will be available March 2012.

Good news! A Tale of Two Djinns managed to surprise me & come a bit early…so it’s available now!
Thanks Nikki for inviting me over!
OOOO congrats!!!! And no problem, you are welcome to come anytime
Congrats on having your novel arrive early, Mina!
I also read a lot of Enid Blyton when I was small, and my favorites were the dorm school novels. At the moment I enjoy reading Yoshikawa Eiji’s historical fiction. I also enjoyed Kim Stanley Robinson’s The Years of Rice and Salt, which is about an alternate history post-Black Death.
Ooh, “The Years of Rice & Salt” sounds uber interesting…adding it to my TBR pile! Thanks
I love paranormal romance books. Some of my favs are the cyborg and zorn warrior series by Laurann Dohner and the mercy thompson and alpha and omega series by Patricia Briggs. Thanks for the chance.

I’m a total Patricia Briggs fan, but I have to say I think I like the Alpha & Omega series a bit more than the Mercy Thompson series (or her straight fantasy)…somehow, A & O stories seem more emotionally deeper. Good luck, btw!
I love the cover of both stories and will definitely be adding them to my wishlist! Congrats on the surprise early release!!! I love anything with romance in it… doesn’t matter if it’s contemporary, paranormal, UF, historical or a mix! If the story sounds good and it has romance in it, then I’ll read it:) My fav so far of the year is Beautiful Disaster by Jamie Mcguire.

Thanks Yadira, I have to say I loooove my covers too!
I’m partial to stories with romance too because I think they carry hope and I love the title “Beautiful Disaster”…okay it’s going on my steadily-growing TBR pile!
Congrats on the early arrival!! I love Patricia Briggs Alpha and Omega series, Patricia Cornwell’s Scarpetta series, Diana Palmer’s Long Tall Texan series, Jennifer Crusie and Molly Harper, just to name a few. Can’t wait to read A Tale of Two Djinns. Thanks for the giveawaty.

Lol, I’m kinda partial to a certain Long Tall Texan ;D Thanks for sharing your favorite books!
The book sounds fantastic and the benefit to charities even better. What made you pick the djinn of all the paranormal creatures out there?
Hi Linda,
I grew up on djinn stories…they are very popular in Bangladesh and other parts of Asia. Almost as popular as Vampires here
. Thanks for your kind words!
