I just finished Eve Silver’s novella to the Otherkin series, Sin’s Daughter. If you remember, so far, I have LOVED LOVED LOVED this series. I haven’t read the third one yet, though I do have it sitting here waiting patiently. I even have a signed copy of the second book, Sins Of The Soul…and of course the note Eve sent with it. Tucked on the top shelf of my bookshelf away from prying little fingers, aka my kids. Imagine my delight when I was on Amazon and found a novella for the series!
Sin’s Daughter weaves the story of Kai and Amber, truly a pair of star-crossed lovers. Both thinking the other has sold them out. When Kai is brutally murdered Amber knows it’s time to run yet again. She knows the deal, she has been running her entire life. Her feelings conflicted for the man that she loves but the lies she also believes.
Kai doesn’t stay dead for long. He becomes a soul reaper and 50 years later runs into Amber again. Amber hasn’t changed a bit, which is odd because she should be about 75 years old by his watch. Now faced with the fact that neither of them is quite human, they race to find the answer behind the continuous hunting of Amber. Who are these men and what does the God of Lust want with her?
When it all comes to a head, will Kai finally trade her for the opportunity to name his price? Or will love, just this once, actually be enough.
Is the novella predictable, yeah slightly. I was fine with that however. Going into a novella I know that about a quarter of the way through it I am going to know the score. That’s okay. I really enjoyed this quick read. Anything that gets me closer to this series is fine by me. Eve Silver can spin an intricate tale in a condensed soup version for me any day. Her writing is just that good.
It’s a free download for Kindle right now! What are you waiting for? Go here!
I give Sin’s Daughter 3.75 stars!
Nikki, this freebie is one I actually sat down and have read already… I am so glad I read it before the actual full length books, which am going to sit down with in a couple of days, it was a great beginning to what I know I am going to enjoy immensely…. May have been a bit on the predictable side but who cares as the entire story just set the stage for what promises to be a heck of a good read in bks 1,2 &3!
Now if only I could find more “Novellas” like this free for Kindle than I would actually read all the books have downloaded to my computer that much sooner….
jackie >_<
Oh, I’ll have to see if this is free on Amazon UK too.
Thanks.
Great Review, i saw this one for free on amazon, I’ll check it out!
Nikki-ann and Faye I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I love reading short stories, they make me feel productive and accomplished LMAO. And with my crazy life anything that makes me feel productive is a good thing
